13 Years’ Experience
MJS Locksmiths was established in 2009 by owner Marc Smith; he was previously a time-served carpenter and joiner, and he retrained as a locksmith in 2009.
Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength, and it now comprises a team of fantastic locksmiths, covering every aspect of the locksmith industry. This team is well known in the locksmith industry for their fantastic skills and the service provided to all their customers.
In 2019, Marc sat the British Locksmith Institute examinations, passing all four of the exams to become a qualified master locksmith.
MJS Locksmiths then became a Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) Approved Company, one of only a small number of locksmiths in the Teesside area to have this accreditation.

There isn’t a government authority that regulates the locksmith industry. Anyone can set themselves up as a locksmith, and whilst there are many good locksmiths, there are many others without training and even some unscrupulous traders.
